Google Maps and your business profile

01Is your Google Business Profile claimed and complete?

Category, opening hours, address or service area, real photos, and products or services.

02Do you have Google reviews from the last three months, and do you reply to them?

Recent reviews with replies show the business is still active.

03Are your name, address and phone number exactly the same everywhere?

Google Maps, Instagram, marketplaces, your website and directories.

Website

04Do you have a website on your own domain?

For example yourbusiness.com, not only a link in your bio.

05Do your important pages show up on Google?

Check by typing site:yourdomain in Google, or in Google Search Console.

06Are prices, menu, area, hours and how to order written as text?

Not only in photos, posters or PDF files.

07Does your website open quickly on a phone?

In under about three seconds on an ordinary mobile connection.

Mentioned by others and by AI

08Is there a page that answers the questions buyers often ask?

For example how to order, shipping, the difference between packages, or product comparisons.

09Has anyone else ever mentioned your business?

Local media, blogs, directories, communities, or collaborations with other businesses.

10Have you checked whether ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity name your business?

Using the questions a potential buyer might ask.

What is scored, and why in this order

Google says there are no special requirements to appear in AI Overviews and AI Mode: a page only needs to be indexed and meet SEO basics. So the questions start with what Google reads first, your business profile and website, and move on to what takes longer, being mentioned by others.

Each Yes scores 2, Partly 1 and Not yet 0. The terms are explained in GEO, AEO and SEO: the difference (in Indonesian).

Are my answers stored?

No. The score is worked out in your browser. Analytics only records that someone finished the check and their score, without the answers and without personal data.

My business has no physical location. Is this still relevant?

Mostly, yes. An online business without a shop can set its Google Business Profile as a service area with no address, and the website and mentions sections matter even more.

My score is low. Where do I start?

With number one on the list of fixes. It is already sorted from the most basic, and most of it you can do yourself for free.
